NEW WAYS TO VISUALIZE THE BEAUTY OF MUSIC
Listening to music is an all-encompassing experience that engages all our senses, including our visual imagination. With this special project, we’ve harnessed the power of AI technology to generate stunning visuals that capture the essence of the listening experience. Whether you’re an audiophile, a music lover, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of art, our AI-generator will take you on a journey of sensory exploration.
THE KING OF POP
“There are some artists who have touched and moved you more than anyone else! The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, presented music on a level unheard of for decades. Personally, I have been fortunate enough to be close to Michael Jackson and have met several of his family members. The album Thriller stands as the ultimate album, and I couldn’t think of any other artist when asked “who is a key influencer” in terms of musical experiences. Rest in peace.”

SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES
“I’ve probably seen DMB live more than any other and remains one of the bands that both my wife and I share as all-time favorites, bringing me back to many great memories…”

CALM & RELAXING
“No matter my mood this song always calms and relaxes me. From the simple acoustic guitar that seems to have the perfect note with perfect timing, and the words that make you think about people and relationships that are important, not material possessions.”

HARNESSING THE CREATIVE POTENTIAL OF AI
The latest developments in AI technology offer an enormous creative potential as AI algorithms are becoming new creative players and creators that are transforming our way of thinking about creativity. It’s important to recognize that these new technologies pose challenges and ethical considerations. However, we also believe that there are exciting possibilities for AI to enhance our creativity and transform the way we think about art and expression. With Perceptual Visualizer, we wanted to explore the creative potential of AI-technologies and showcase how they can be used to elevate the listening experience in new and exciting ways. Hence, we set out to combine the power of AI with the PERLISTEN experience that our followers know and love.
HOW IT WORKS
The Perceptual Visualizer is powered by two advanced machine learning models that utilize artificial intelligence to create unique visual art from music tracks. In the first step of the process, Perceptual Visualizer uses GPT 3.5 to translate users’ inputs – the song, artist, and genre – into a textual description that represents the essence of the music. GPT 3.5 is an advanced language model that uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text, making it the perfect tool for describing the intricate details of a music track. Once the textual description has been generated, Perceptual Visualizer uses Stable Diffusion XL, another powerful machine learning model, to transform the text into an abstract digital visual artwork. Stable Diffusion XL uses a diffusion process to generate a unique image that is inspired by the textual description, resulting in a one-of-a-kind visual representation of the music.
CREATING A VISUAL UNIVERSE FOR PERLISTENERS
The Perceptual Visualizer generates it’s unique and creative images through the AI’s associations and interpretations of the input music track. These graphical outputs are ultimately a product of all the data on which the algorithm is trained, which includes almost all the content on the internet. In this sense, the creative images that the algorithm creates can be seen as a product of the sum of all the graphic representations of music tracks found on the internet. However, to ensure that the creative outputs of the Perceptual Visualizer align with Perlisten’s brand and aesthetic, we defined certain guidelines within which the algorithm operates. The majority of the unique outputs feature a circular shape, drawing inspiration from Perlisten’s DPC-Array – the innovative technology that enables Perlisten to deliver superior sound quality by optimizing early reflections and sound power.
Secondly, the creative forces behind the visualizer have been instructed to operate within an aesthetic framework that echoes Perlisten’s visual universe. This means that the resulting shapes often bear traces of sound waves and other audio-related shapes and patterns. However, due to the unpredictable nature of working with AI algorithms, the output cannot always be fully controlled. This element of unpredictability is also what makes the project exciting, as it allows for experimentation and playfulness. If the output doesn’t quite match the users’ expectations, they can simply try again. With the Perceptual Visualizer, we’re excited to offer our community of Perlisteners a new way to experience the beauty of music. We’re proud to have brought this project to life, and we hope that it adds value to the PERLISTEN experience that our followers have come to love.
